Now Hiring: Mascot Apprentice

Joe the Duck serves as the official mascot of MoonDucks Coffee.  

Apply for this contract position and become a mascot-in-training and future MoonDucks ambassador to the world and beyond. Our beloved Joe the Duck will take you under his wing. In this job, the sky is the limit!

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

  • Master of Science (Ornithology)

  • Diploma in Birdwatching

  • Certificate in Pond Management

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Love of coffee, bordering on addiction, and an extremely high tolerance for caffeine.

  • Minimum height of six feet and maximum weight of 160 pounds, to match Joe’s impressive physique and the size of the costume.

  • Superior physical specimen, able to lift and wear the costume, and with the stamina to perform animated movements while navigating stairs and rooftops with limited vision.

  • Must be able to read individuals’ social cues to understand the level of interaction each customer may want. Must be perceptive to the avoid common traps.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Arrive on-time and always follow through with the event plan, adapting to any unexpected situations, and never giving up on your goodwill mission.

  • Maintain the integrity of the mascot costume, including unruffling feathers and delousing.

  • Embody and promote MoonDucks values, creating a positive and welcoming presence that strengthens connections with customers, employees, and the wider community.

  • Create memorable moments for MoonDucks’ customers, especially at the annual launch of the new pumpkin spice latte. Pose for photos and maintain a playful, energetic, and sometimes mischievous demeanor to encourage fans of all ages to drink more coffee.

  • Represent MoonDucks in a professional and respectful manner. Stay in-character to preserve the identity of Joe the Duck. Look like a duck, think like a duck, walk like a duck.

COMPENSATION PACKAGE

  • $100 honourium per appearance
